The Teshat (テシャト Teshato?) are the warrior caste of the Holy Theocracy of Noiryanaruse. They acted as the Theocracy's army to keep the country safe from invasion, contrary to the rules of Noirya, the country's religion.

The far-western countries and Noiryanaruse followed Noirya, a religion in which the earth goddess and the fates she governed over are regarded as the absolute deity. However, as one of the religious laws, it forbid bloodshed. It meant that shedding the blood of a fellow human being was a sin that could never ever be washed away. This included the blood of pagans, people of different ethnic groups and of other nations. Even if an adversary were to raise their sword against the Theocracy, the country could not strike back in retaliation.

As a result, and the recognition of a need for an army, the Teshat were made as soldiers. At first, these soldiers were hired from foreign nations in the west, but even hired, they prioritized their homeland over the Theocracy, and were not seen as trustworthy. Even though Noirya was adhered to by the citizens of the Theocracy, they could not spill blood at any cost. This resulted in the Theocracy to not account for the Teshat being citizens, and regarded them as weapons sent by the earth goddess to defend the Shekha. While being dehumanised and regarded as divine armaments, the precepts of the country did not apply to them, and so was allowed to oppose any invaders without staining the faith of the Theocracy. Because of these actions, both the Giadian Empire and the United Kingdom of Roa Gracia describe the far-western nation as the 'mad country'.
