The Second Great Offensive (第二次大攻勢 Dai-niji Dai Kousei?), referred to internally as Operation Dies Irae (オペレーション・ディエス・イレ Operēshon Diesu Ire?) or simply D-Day (ディー・デイ Dī Dei?), was an operation that took place in Dies Passionis, carried out by the Legion against all forces of humanity. The operation concluded with the overturning of humanity's achievements, forcing militaries to retreat and their borders into swift decline. The operation also cost humanity its communications with countries in the far-west and at the southern coasts, as well as the complete destruction of the Regicide Fleet Countries, following the fall of its first defensive line.[1]
The Second Great offensive saw the deployment of projectiles launched from orbit, directly responsible for the loss of momentum humanity had gained in the time being.
Background[]
Ten years prior to the offensive, during the revolution, the Imperialist faction had commanded a self destruct order to all their artifical satellites from their command centers. At the time, these satellites would break off and become large debris. This was intended, as the debris hit other countries' satellites in close proximity to the planet.
These artificial satellites flew within their set orbits at high speeds of around several thousand meters per second. While small debris posed no danger, chunks of debris weighing several tonnes, while also moving at that speed was potentially dangerous and causing serious damage.
The clean up of the debris needed to be thorough, and if more satellites were launched, would need to be removed. Even the Federacy, the largest nation existing on the continent, struggled to find the budget and fuel required for the clean up.

Major engagements happened all over the continent. Below is a timeline of some events during D-Day on October 1st, all of which are in Federacy Standard Time (FST):
00:17 - Multile projectiles hit the Federacy's second southern front, in areas under the deployment of the 18th Armored Corps. Contact with the 18th was cut off. Countermeasures recalculate the attack's trajectory as having been launched from directly above the combat zone.
00:22 - Multiple projectiles hit the Regicide Fleet Countries' defensive lines from above.
00:25 - Multiple projectiles hit the Federal Republic of Giad's first and second northern lines, as well as the south's first line from above.
00:29 - Multiple projectiles hit the Alliance of Wald's eastern front from above.
00:31 - Multiple projectiles hit the United Kingdom of Roa Gracia's southern front from above.
00:34 - Reported bombardments hit the southern part of the Continent, impacts ranging from the Grand Duchy of Qitira to the Alliance of Wald.
00:51 - Giad's Western Front HQ issues a retreat to all fronts. Reserve force instructed to deploy at reserve formations. The Eastern Front HQ, the first, second and third Northern, and the first, second, third and fourth Southern Front HQ issues a retreat to their commanded units and reserves are sent emergency deployment orders.
04:45 - Multiple projectiles hit the Holy Theocracy of Noiryanaruse's northern front from above.
11:08 - Multiple projectiles hit the Federal Republic of Giad's eastern front from above.
11:55 - Multiple projectiles hit the Federacy's third and forth northern fronts, in addition to the third and fourth southern fronts from above.
12:11 - Legion forces across the second southern front of the Federacy observed to begin offensive manoeuvres. 15 minutes later, reports of Legion aggresion on all fronts and countries are given.
12:24 - Federacy military engages. Bombardment from above continues. Present units begin continuous fighting while reserves commence interdiction fire. Main force continues retreat.
15:06 - Last confirmed bombardment from above. No other bombardments reported after this point. Offensive continues.
16:11 - Regicide Fleet Countries' final defensive line falls.
18:47 - Communications severed with the far-western nations, including the Holy Theocracy of Noiryanaruse.
18:59 - Alliance of Wald abandons its first defensive line and retreats to their second defensive line.
19:26 - Communications severed with the southern coast countries, including the Grand Duchy of Qitira.
21:33 - The United Kingdom of Roa Gracia abandons the Dragon Corpse mountain range, falls back to reserve formation at the mountain's foot, and starts the construction of its defensive line along the southern plains.
21:49 - The Federal Republic of Giad's third northern front successfully retreats to a reserve defensive line.
22:54 - All Federacy fronts successfully halt the Legion's advance.
23:49 - All Federacy fronts bring fighting to stalemate in reserve lines.
Aftermath[]
Every single front had experienced heavy losses and were in a complete state of defeat.
Legacy[]
While the Second Great Offensive ended in a stalemate that favored the Legion. It has undone humanity’s efforts that were obtained during the First Great Offensive. The results of the Second Great Offensive eventually resulted into Operation Lorica Sacra where the Federacy evacuated their remaining forces out of the territories of the Republic of San Magnolia.
