Reisha Nouzen (レイシャ・ノウゼン Reisha Nouzen?) was a minor character in the 86 -Eighty Six- series.
He was the father of Shin and Rei, husband of Yuuna Nouzen, and son of Seiei Nouzen. Reisha was a researcher who worked in or collaborated with the Republic Armed Forces. At first he focused on artificial intelligence, culminating in the creation of Fido. His side research in the powers of his family eventually led to the creation of the Para-RAID.
Appearance[]
Reisha is a middle-aged man with some minor facial hair. He has short jet-black hair and the eyes of an Onyx. During Fido's video montage, he's seen wearing a simple green shirt.
Personality[]
Reisha was perhaps a hopeless romantic, prioritizing his love of Yuuna over his position in the Nouzen Clan. He was also quickly forgiving, continuing to write letters to his father after his exile. In general, Reisha is a man with an idealistic heart, shown by his philosophy when researching AI who could be friends to mankind.[2]
Chronology[]
Reisha was born into the Nouzen Clan, a noble clan in the Giadian Empire that was known for producing capable warriors. He was the eldest son of Seiei Nouzen. He was a researcher specializing in artificial intelligence and robotics, as well as an adept Feldreẞ operator.[3] His occupation allowed him to be acquainted with Zelene Birkenbaum.
At some point in time he met Yuuna, a daughter of the Pyrope Maika Clan, and fell in love. Their romance was not blessed, as the traditions of noble purity were still being upheld by both Nouzen and Maika. Marrying outside their race was forbidden, even more scandalous was the matrimony of an Onyx and a Pyrope. Their decision to marry each other garnered their exile. Unable to stay in the Giadian Empire, the couple had to move to the Republic of San Magnolia, eventually being blessed with their first son, Shourei.
After immigrating to Liberté et Égalité, he met Josef von Penrose, a neuroscientist who befriended Reisha while studying at the university. As they were neighbors, Reisha's second son Shinei would often play with Josef's daughter Rita.
Reisha and Josef initially developed the Para-RAID system after Josef had taken an interest in the ESP seen in Yuuna, Rei, and Shin. They set up experiments where the brothers would attempt to guess what their mother was thinking behind a curtain while wearing the headgear he made. While the experiments were light-hearted in the beginning, things changed when the military found out about the experiments as the war with the Legion was waging on, and they needed an alternative wireless communication system.[4]
After the enactment of the Special Wartime Peace Preservation Act, Josef provided shelter for Reisha's family until his daughter opposed it. This resulted in the entire family being shipped off to the Eighty-Sixth Sector where Reisha soon enlisted to fight against the Legion, becoming a soldier in exchange for his family's rights. He eventually died during combat against the Legion. His death will prove to be a costly waste to the Republic, as his research project on combat AI based on Fido was able to become the key to reverse the plight of the Republic in particular and humanity in general.

Reisha was a researcher who was specialized in artificial intelligence and robotics, as he was the one who created the AI of Fido. He was also able to pilot a Feldreẞ. A quality that was proven to be convient when he enlisted to fight against the Legion.

Josef von Penrose[]
Josef was a good friend of Reisha and his neighbor who he met during their time at university. They were responsible of developing the Para-RAID together.
Yuuna Nouzen[]
Yuuna Nouzen is his wife from the Maika Clan, despite their different ethnic backgrounds and the stance of the Nouzen Clan of maintaining their racial purity, he still loved and wished to marry her.
Seiei Nouzen[]
Seiei and Reisha's relationship was strained after his decision to marry Yuuna. Reisha continued to write letters to his father after moving to the Republic, and Seiei sent gifts for his grandchildren in return despite never directly responding to his son's correspondence.[5] In the end, Seiei was outwardly obstinate about Reisha until it was too late. Reisha would die in the Eighty-Sixth Sector and Seiei would regret being indirectly responsible for Reisha and his family's demise.

Because of his occupation as a researcher of artificial intelligence and robotics, he managed to get acquainted with Zelene Birkenbaum.

He seems to be close friends with both Yuuna and Reisha, however it is unknown whenever they knew eachother before or during the Legion War. He would eventually take care of the Nouzen brothers after Yuuna and Reisha were drafed to fight against the Legion.

- Shinei had taken a lot of features from his father while Shourei has taken a lot of features from their mother
- His only appearance in the anime is in the last episode where he appeared in one of Fido's archival footage. He has no lines in the anime.
