Miel Renard (ミエル・ルナル, Mieru Runaru?) is a minor character in the 86 -Eighty Six- series introduced in Gun Smoke on the Water.
He is the son of the late Sylvain Renard, Theo's first squadron leader.

Miel was born in the Republic of San Magnolia to Sylvain Renard and his wife. His father left him and his mother to fight against the Legion when Miel was too young to remember.
Due Sylvain's actions, Miel grew up being told about how his father was doing something wrong, this greatly affected the young boy who wished to understand his deceased father.
During The Great Offensive, Miel's mother would pass away, leaving the boy alone.

Miel met Theo after the young soldier asked the Federacy to find his former captain's family. The boy talked about his past and asked Theo if his father had done the right thing, to which he was told that yes, that Sylvian was a righteous person like Miel's mother said.
