"Holy Blue Bullet" (ホーリィ・ブルー・ブレット Hōrii Burū Buretto?) is the twelfth volume of the 86 -Eighty Six- light novel series. This volume covers the eighth story arc of the series, depicting the aftermath of Operation Lorica Sacra and the Federacy's attempts to regain ground. The Eighty-Sixth Strike Package, although heavily affected by the previous operation, is dragged back into combat on the northern front. It was to be a fairly straight forward operation. At least, until a bunch of fools were tempted by a pie in the sky idea.
Tagline[]
"Our Ladies, Pray for the Miserable Ones at the Moment of Their Death."
"青く貴く醜い弾丸が、静かに己の心臓を冒していることを、哀れな彼らは知ろうともしない[1]
"
― The blue, noble, and unsightly bullet is quietly poisoning their own hearts. These miserable ones do not even attempt to understand that.
Epigraph[]
" The second advantage of introducing the Artificial Fairies.
They do not act outside the scope of their orders. There is no cowardice, no desertion, no impurities that will impede operational activity in the form of their individual will.
In other words, their introduction enables us to lift one of the layers of fog that hangs over the battlefield. "
― Viktor Idinarohk, Artificial Fairy Outline
"人造妖精を戦場に投入する、第二の利点。
彼女たちは命じられた以外を行わない。怯懦を、逃避を、己の意思といぅ夾雑物を、作 戦行動に泥入させない。
すなわち戦場にかかる霧を一つ、晴らすことが町能となる。 "― ヴィークトル・ィディナローク『人造妖精概説』

Trivia[]
- "Blue Bullet" alludes to the usage of nuclear weapons within the volume. Noele Rohi refers to nuclear weapons as a "sacred blue fire" to smite the Legion. The color blue has also been used to denote death or the Legion within the series, hinting at it's double-edged or harmful nature. The "Holy" portion of the title might refer to the salvation that the Blue Bullet might bring, its forbiddenness or sacredness, or simply the biblical destruction that would be caused by its usage.
- A similar phrase to Blue Bullet is the Silver Bullet, a metaphor for a magical solution to a difficult problem.
- Blue-tipped ammunition in the US color-coding system identifies incendiary rounds.[3]
- The special limited edition include a archive box illustrated by Shirabii, a booklet with short stories written by Asato Asato, a A4 poster and a nendroid of Vladilena Milizé (version Bloody Regina).[4]
