The Holy Theocracy of Noiryanaruse (ノイリャナルセ聖教国, Noiryanaruse Seikyoukoku?) , shortened to the Theocracy, is the setting for Valkyrie Has Landed.

The Theocracy is the leader of the Aurata-native countries in the continent’s far northwest. The nation does not share borders with the Republic or the Federacy and has developed an entirely different culture and language.[1]

Flag[]

The insignia worn by the 3rd Army Corps "Shiga-Toura" features a sword-holding Pegasus, with their numerical designation written in roman numerals.

Ethnicities[]

Nothing else is known besides the fact that it is a country with a sizeable Aurata population, as well as the leader of the Aurata-native nations in the far-west.

Language[]

Unlike the Federacy, the Republic, the Alliance, and the United Kingdom, which share the same common language with different dialects, people in the Theocracy and the far-western countries speak a completely different language. It gives speakers a unique accent where most foreigners struggle to pronounce their words. The following is an excerpt of the country's language: "Rema refoa, Himmelnåde. Tsuriji yuuna, Réze." which translates to "We honor you, Lady Himmelnåde. Réze, our guiding star...".

Religion[]

Noirya is the national religion of the Holy Theocracy. Its doctrine was strictly adhered to, regarded even more highly than the laws of the nation. In this religion, the earth goddess and the fates she governed over are regarded as the absolute deity. The faith posited that the goddess bestowed onto people the roles they must fulfill and the fates they must abide by. All souls were born into their families for the sake of fulfilling these roles. As a result, citizens of the Holy Theocracy could not choose their own profession, and one’s household was seen as the most important factor in marriages. Individualism and freedom of choice simply did not exist. [2]
