Fido (ファイド, Faido?) is a primary supporting character in the 86 -Eighty Six- series.
Fido was the result of an artificial intelligence project developed by Reisha Nouzen, acting as a sort of household pet before the Legion war.[1]
Fido is currently a Scavenger, providing aid to the Spearhead Squadron by resupplying ammunition and recharging energy packs, as well as finding and extracting materials from abandoned or destroyed units. He is Shin's oldest surviving companion, accompanying him even longer than Raiden.
Appearance[]
Fido used to take the appearance of a mechanical dog, before transferring himself into a Scavenger unit with a red band under his sensor.
Personality[]
Fido's personality was heavily influenced by a young and innocent Shin. As an AI, he is very dedicated to his master, showing immense initiative by scouring the battlefield for him. He treats the other members of Spearhead in much the same way, with reverence and loyalty.
Background[]
Fido was created as part of Reisha Nouzen's project in artificial intelligence. Fido was part of the family, interacting mostly with Shin who would influence the A.I. as it developed it's personality. When the Nouzen's were sent to the camp Fido could only watch, being unable to intervene due his protection protocol prevented him from harming humans.
Fido eventually, through self-learning, managed to connect to the open network which he used to upload himself into a Scavenger to search for the family. For years he wandered the battlefield helping many squadron until they fell in battle.
Due all the people that he saw die Fido started to lose hope, feeling like a failure for being unable to find the father, mother and older brother. Eventually he was found by Shin and they remained together until the story began.
